VIOLET TOWNSHIP BOARD OF ZONING APPEALS

Notice of Public Hearing

The Violet Township Board of Zoning Appeals will hold a Public Hearing at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 16, 2025 at the Violet Township Administrative Offices located at 10190 Blacklick Eastern Road, Pickerington to consider the following: 

Case VAR-25-17: an application for variance filed by Belinda Paisley, 14 Callie Ct, Granville, Ohio for property located at 13645 Capetown Avenue, Pickerington owned by Ross Paisley.  This application requests a variance from Violet Township Zoning Resolution Section 3J2-06 to allow the construction of a deck which is to be placed closer to the rear property line than permitted.  

Case VAR-25-18: an application for variance filed by Steven Kane for property located at 12324 Thoroughbred Drive, owned by Steven Kane and Monique Holokai-Kane.  Pursuant to Violet Township Zoning Resolution Section 3V3-01(E)(1) this application requests a variance from Section 3V3-01(C)(9) to allow the construction of a deck which is to be placed closer to the rear property line than permitted in Bentwood Farms Planned Residential District.

Case VAR-25-19: an application for variance filed by Reginald Ellis for property located at 11807 Kennington Sq. West, Pickerington owned by Reginald and Kimberly Ellis.  This application requests a variance from the provisions of Violet Township Zoning Resolution Section 3B2-06 to allow the construction of a deck which is to be placed closer to the rear property line than permitted. 

Case VAR-25-20: an application for variance filed by Pam Meeks, DaNIte Sign Co, 1640 Harmon Avenue, Columbus, for property located at 7851 Refugee Road, owned by Whitland Properties LLC, 111 Commerce Park Dr., Suite B, Westerville, OH.  This application requests a variance from the provisions of Violet Township Zoning Resolution Section 3W2(F)(2) to allow the installation of a digital menu board.  This application modifies Case 13-VA-2004, a variance request approved in June 2004.

Case VAR-25-21: an application for variance filed by Thomas Harr, 6103 Pickerington Road, Carroll, owned by COGS ULTD LLC, 4900 Reed Rd, Suite 206, Columbus.  Pursuant to Violet Township Zoning Resolution Section IV, subsection 4D, this application requests variances from the provisions of Section 3A2-04 to allow a non-conforming structure/home to remain where constructed, closer to the front property line than permitted; and Section 3A2-05 to allow additions to an existing non-conforming structure/home to remain where constructed, closer to the side property lines than permitted. 

These applications are available for examination from Thursday, October 2, 2025 through Thursday, October 16, 2025, inclusive, Mondays through Fridays, excluding legal holidays, during the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Violet Township Administrative Offices, 10190 Blacklick-Eastern Road, Pickerington, Ohio 43147. 

The person responsible for giving notice of this public hearing by publication is Kelly Sarko, Violet Township Zoning Inspector.
