Request Public Records
Violet Township is dedicated to providing the highest quality customer service, in accordance with Ohio's Public Records Act (PDF). It is our policy, that all non-exempt public records are to be made available, upon request, for inspection or copying, to any person during regular business hours.
Records are kept for various lengths of time, based on the Township's Records Retention Schedule (PDF), approved by the Township's Board of Trustees. There may be a charge for making copies of public records.
If you are looking for INFORMATION as opposed to a public record, we may be able to assist you in directing you as follows:
- Any service providers, utility or lien information would need to be provided by one of the following, depending upon the specific address:
- Utilities other than water or sanitary – Fairfield County Utilities if billing is provided and area is in unincorporated Violet Township OR
- City of Pickerington or City of Canal Winchester – possibly – depends on the address and who provides the service based upon the address or
- Utilities – Other
- Electric – either South Central Power or AEP, depending on the address
- Natural Gas – either Northeast Gas, Columbia Gas or another private natural gas company, depending upon the address and if the service is available in that area
- Liens – Lien information can be found through court documents filed by any number of entities, in any number of various state, local, and federal court systems. Assessment may also be listed under the parcel in the Fairfield County Ohio Auditors website using Property Search, or possibly found through the Fairfield County Recorders Office Search function
