Notice of Public Hearing

The Violet Township Board of Zoning Appeals will hold a Public Hearing at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 17, 2021 by means of teleconference/video conference to consider the following:

 Case Number 16-VA-2021: an application for variance filed by Kennard Smith c/o Richard T. Ricketts, 50 Hill Road South, Pickerington, Ohio for property owned by Kennard M. Smith and Carmelita Bonaventura, Trustees, 6380 Diley Road, Canal Winchester for property consisting of 58.02± acres known as Parcel Numbers 0370224540, 0370224600 and 0370220700.  This application requests a variance from the provisions of Violet Township Zoning Resolution Section 3A2-02 to allow the creation of three lots which contain less than 125 feet of frontage on a public road or street. 

Case Number 17-VA-2021: an application filed by Elmer L. Jackson for property located at 10558 Doty Road, Pickerington owned by Elmer L. and Deborah A, Jackson, 10558 Doty Road.  This application requests a variance from the provisions of Violet Township Zoning Resolution Section 3AA4-05(A)(2) to allow additions to an existing detached accessory structure which exceed the permitted floor area for an accessory building on a lot greater than one acre in area.

Case Number 18-VA-2021: a variance filed by William and Stephanie Gillette for property located at 7020 Blacklick Eastern Road.  This application requests a variance from the provisions of Violet Township Zoning Resolution Sections 3A2-02 and 3AA4-05(B)(1) to allow the installation of a second dwelling unit on the property which is not attached to the home nor a garage apartment; variances from Section 3AA4-05(A)(4), 3AA4-05(A)(2) and Section 3AA4-05(A)(5)(b) a variance for the existing detached accessory building which is larger than permitted on a lot greater than one acre in area, taller than the principal structure and closer to the side property line than permitted.

Case Number 19-VA-2021: an application for variance filed by Anthony Keefer, 1632 Ginder Road, Lancaster for property located at 13163 Coventry Avenue, Pickerington, owned by Nicholas and Rebekah Winfree.  This application requests a variance from the provisions of Violet Township Zoning Resolution Section 3J2-06 to allow the construction of a deck to be placed closer to the rear property line than permitted.

Case Number 20-VA-2021: an application for variance filed by Brad J. Hess for property located at 12738 Wheaton Avenue, Pickerington.  This application requests a variance from the provisions of Violet Township Zoning Resolution Section 3J2-06 to allow the construction of a deck closer to the rear property line than permitted. 

These applications are available for examination Friday, June 4, 2021, through Thursday, June 17, 2021, inclusive, Mondays through Fridays, excluding legal holidays, during the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Violet Township Administrative Offices, 10190 Blacklick-Eastern Road, Pickerington, Ohio 43147.
