Violet Township Development

Violet Township
. . . A Great place to grow your family and business….
Our staff is available to assist existing businesses to expand and to grow in Violet
Township. Programs are available for companies expecting to expand their facilities,
locate within the township, hire new employees, or train existing employees. Violet
Township believes in being business friendly by providing creative solutions to
the issues faced by our commercial and industrial partners.
Tax abatements and reasonably priced industrial properties are two of the advantages
offered by the township. As a part of Fairfield County, Violet Township enjoys a
major asset in the Fairfield County Utilities Department. Water and sewer are provided
by the county and recent investments into the Tussing Road and Walnut Creek facilities
have increased capacities to such a level as to be able to service commercial and
industrial growth in the US 33 corridor well into the future.
Violet Township offers satisfactory transportation via interstate roadways, rail
service, and proximity to two major airports. One of the major roadways is US 33,
which is the pipeline to Columbus from southeastern Ohio and is traveled on a daily
basis by tens of thousands of commuters who work in Columbus but prefer to live
in a quieter, more remote location away from the hectic pace of the city. This is
a workforce that is easily accessed to provide quality employees for businesses
who locate in Violet Township.
It is the goal of Violet Township to be accessible, amenable, flexible, and proactive
in providing a location for growing companies.
Contact our office today at 614-575-5556 to learn more about Violet Township - a
great place to grow your business.

More than 40,000 people live within a five-mile radius of the Hill-Diley/US 33 Interchange
in the southwestern portion of Violet Township. These population figures are expected
to double within 20 years.
Residents of Violet Township are offered a variety of retail shopping establishments
and restaurants as well as a thriving park system, bike trails, and greenspace.
During the summer months many community activities including the Violet Festival,
Friday Flicks in the Sycamore Park Amphitheater, and live bands perform in the Summer
Concert Series.
Violet Township has many opportunities for commercial, retail, and industrial development.
The Cooperative Economic Development Agreement (CEDA) with the Village of Canal
Winchester offers sites with utilities and commercial zoning already in place. Large
tracts of industrially zoned land, much of it in tax-abated areas, are also available.
Two major roadways (Interstate 70 and US 33) and two rail systems offer desirable
transportation options in the township.
Additionally, we are within 10 miles of both Rickenbacker International Airport and Port Columbus International Airport.
The Fairfield County Airport is just minutes to the southeast and features a 5,004-foot
runway.

In 2001, Violet Township partnered with the Village of Canal Winchester to create
an annexation agreement entitled the Violet Pointe Cooperative Economic Development
Agreement to establish acceptable terms for the annexation of land from the township
into the village. This area includes the Canal Pointe Industrial Park which is also
within a Community Reinvestment Area (CRA) which allows a 15-year, 100-percent tax
abatement on real property improvements. Utilities are provided by the village and
commercial zoning is in place.
For more information regarding Violet Pointe please feel free to contact township
staff at (614) 575-5556 to answer questions or provide an on-site tour of the area.
