Violet Township can get you started!
The Township offers free preliminary project review initiated with a phone call or a simple request. The purpose of the preliminary project review is to meet the Township staff who will be involved with a project’s development. The staff will identify issues, processes and/or necessary permits that will require further analysis for development. Along with the discussion of these major issues, the staff will talk about the development process, distribute necessary information and discuss what permits will be required for your particular development. This is true for projects as large as a manufacturing plant; as diverse as a planned development subdivision, or as simple as a garden shed or addition to your home or business.
The Township's staff will guide you through the initial question and answer process no matter how complex your project may be. The proposed project is routed to all major departments for comments and an interview is set-up with the applicant to discuss the application as proposed and any specific requirements, needs or constraints associated with the site. This review allows the applicant to receive vital information prior to formal site plan submittal, and helps to shepherd, streamline and simplify the development process.
You can schedule a pre-development meeting through our Zoning Department as one point of entry to keep projects organized and on track. You may obtain a copy of building permit applications and forms, land use applications and submittal requirements, preliminary project review submittal requirements and general assistance at the administrative office located at 12970 Rustic Drive, Pickerington, Ohio 43147. Or call 614.575.5560 for more information.
